Mataram University as a Leading Campus by Times Higher Education 2023

MATARAM, LOMBOKEXPRESS.ID–Mataram University has been successfully recognized as one of the top universities in Indonesia, according to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023. The announcement was made by the Rector of Mataram University, Professor Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr, St., Ph.D., during the monthly flag ceremony held at the Mataram University Rectorate Field on Monday (June 5, 2023).

Rector Bambang Hari Kusumo stated that in addition to being among the top 20 universities in Indonesia, Mataram University also secured the 15th position among the best public universities (PTNs).

He expressed, “It is with great pleasure that I share the good news that Unram has made it into the top 20 universities in Indonesia, according to the Times Higher Education rankings”.

He emphasized, “Times Higher Education is a ranking system recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology”.

Professor Bambang, who is also a distinguished professor in the Faculty of Agriculture at Mataram University, mentioned that Mataram University is ranked as the second-best university in the Eastern Indonesia region.

“In the Eastern Indonesia region, only two universities have made it into the top 20, namely Hasanuddin University and Mataram University,” Bambang mentioned.

He continued, “This means that in the Eastern Indonesia region, Unram is ranked second, making it the best in Indonesia”.

During the event, Professor Bambang also outlined four methodologies that need to be developed in order to further improve the ranking of Mataram University.

He explained, “First, research; second, governance; third, accessibility; and finally, teaching”. (red)
