WEST LOMBOK (LOMBOK EXPRESS.ID) – The Association of Indonesian Travel Agents (ASTINDO) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) continues its efforts to revive the Senggigi tourism area through the Senggigi Fun Run 2026, a sporting event designed to promote one of Lombok’s premier tourist destinations.
ASTINDO NTB Chairman Sahlan M. Saleh said the event is part of a broader initiative to restore Senggigi’s reputation as the birthplace of tourism on Lombok Island.
“Senggigi is the pioneer of tourism in Lombok. Through the Senggigi Fun Run, we want to restore its former glory while reintroducing the area’s remarkable tourism potential,” Sahlan said.
This year’s event is expected to attract 1,000 participants from across the region. To encourage greater public participation, organizers have prepared 78 prizes, including three Umrah pilgrimage packages as the grand prizes. Other prizes include one refrigerator, two bicycles, a television, and dozens of additional lucky draw rewards.
According to Sahlan, the Senggigi Fun Run is not only intended to promote a healthy lifestyle through sport but also to serve as an effective tourism marketing platform, introducing Senggigi’s attractions to both domestic and international visitors.
“We want participants to do more than enjoy the run. We hope they will also experience Senggigi’s unique attractions and become ambassadors who share their positive experiences, helping to promote tourism in West Nusa Tenggara,” he said.
The 2026 edition marks the third Senggigi Fun Run. Encouraged by growing public enthusiasm, ASTINDO NTB aims to increase participation to 2,000 runners for the 2027 event.

ASTINDO NTB believes the annual event will contribute significantly to strengthening Senggigi’s position as one of West Nusa Tenggara’s leading tourist destinations, while boosting visitor arrivals, supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and stimulating the local tourism economy.

At that time, The Kick-Off Ceremony of the Senggigi Festival 2026 was officially led by the Regent of West Lombok, Lalu Ahmad Zaini. The festival will run for the next three months, featuring a variety of cultural performances showcased at the local art market.
As part of the revitalization efforts, the government continues its commitment to rejuvenating Senggigi tourism, including the ongoing beach arrangement project and the development of a jogging track to enhance visitor experience.
Senggigi Beach, known for its stunning and captivating scenery, remains one of Lombok’s most iconic tourist destinations.
The Regent emphasized the importance of strong collaboration among stakeholders to accelerate regional development and strengthen the local economy.
