LOMBOK, Indonesia – The breathtaking natural beauty, warm hospitality, and exceptional service experienced during the post-tour Familiarization Trip (Famtrip) following the Bali and Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2026 have left a lasting impression on international buyers and tourism industry professionals from various countries.
Over the course of three days, participants explored some of Lombok’s leading tourism destinations, discovering not only stunning landscapes but also the rich culture and genuine hospitality that define West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
As the program concluded and participants prepared to return to Bali, many shared enthusiastic testimonials, describing their experience as exceeding expectations and expressing their commitment to promoting Lombok to travelers in their respective markets.
One participant from Pakistan noted that the hospitality he experienced in Lombok had given him a new perspective on tourism service standards.
“Pakistan is known worldwide for its hospitality culture. However, what I experienced in Lombok has shown me a new dimension of hospitality—one that is sincere, heartfelt, and truly memorable,” he said.
Participants also expressed their gratitude to the organizing committee, the NTB Regional Tourism Promotion Board (BPPD NTB), and all stakeholders involved in delivering the Famtrip program. According to them, the well-organized itinerary provided valuable insight into Lombok’s vast potential as a world-class tourism destination.
Alena, a participant from Slovakia, said she would return home with beautiful memories and valuable professional connections made during the trip.
“The reality was even better than my expectations. I will take home wonderful memories from Lombok and new friendships that were created throughout this Famtrip,” she said.
Similar sentiments were shared by Jakub from the Czech Republic, who praised both the professionalism of the organizers and the outstanding hospitality extended throughout the journey.
Meanwhile, a participant from Myanmar described Lombok as her first “wow” experience in Indonesia, encompassing both Bali and Lombok. She expressed hope of returning soon with tourism partners and guests from her country.
Many participants were also impressed by the “Meaningful Lombok” concept, which offers more than just beautiful scenery. They appreciated the authentic experiences that connected them with local culture, culinary traditions, community life, and sustainable tourism practices.
“We hope more travelers will come to Lombok and experience the same meaningful journey that we enjoyed during this visit,” one participant remarked.
Several buyers also indicated their intention to include Lombok in future travel packages offered to clients in their home countries. They highlighted Lombok’s unique combination of pristine beaches, rich cultural heritage, welcoming communities, quality accommodations, and distinctive tourism experiences that set it apart from other destinations in Southeast Asia.
The BBTF 2026 Famtrip has become an important milestone in strengthening NTB’s tourism promotion efforts in the international market. The positive feedback from global tourism buyers and industry professionals demonstrates Lombok’s ability to create lasting impressions while opening new opportunities to attract more international visitors in the years ahead.
With the memories and experiences they bring home, these participants leave not only as visitors but also as potential ambassadors who will introduce the beauty of Lombok—known as the Island of a Thousand Mosques—to the world. (has)
